Danek Piechowiak

Designer diamond point glass for all occasions.

Danek was born in Hampshire in 1949 and is of Anglo-Polish parentage, and was brought up in North Devon by his English relations. He studied stained glass at the Bideford School of Art and later won a place at Hammersmith College of Art to further his studies with glass in the form of sculpture, but was unable to finance the course. Danek moved to London in 1969 and got a day job although he continued to pursue a career working with glass. By 1971 he had started to engrave glass with diamond tipped tools, and soon found a ready market for his work. The General Trading Company in Sloane Street, London was first to stock his engraved glass.

In 1972 Danek moved to Bredon Hill on the borders of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire and later became a member of the Worcestershire Guild although he had exhibited with them many times over the preceding years. Since 2000 he has lived in the beautiful Toadsmoor Valley on the edge of the Cotswolds.
