Handmade Designer Glass and Gemstone Beadwork Jewellery

Sam Hemming has been a member of the WGDC since 1996. She creates unusual and
individual pieces of designer jewellery using Egyptian, African and Native American
techniques. Taught basic beading techniques by an expert American Beadworker/Designer,
she has been developing the craft and her individual style ever since.

She has sold work in Fine Jewellery Dept of Liberty’s of London, with the WGDC
and at high quality exhibitions throughout the UK. She also has work in
select galleries throughout the country.

She uses high quality materials to create delicate chokers and necklets to larger
decorative pieces, small studs to elaborate fringed cabachon earrings, bracelets,
cuffs, hairslides and brooches. She also creates Bridalwear, beaded bags and
head-dresses.She designs with Czech and Japanese glass rocaille (seed) beads
in a stunning range of colours, Swarovski crystal glass cabachons and beads.
She also incorporates antique buttons and semi-precious gemstones such as
Amethyst, Cornelian, Lapis Lazuli, Malachite, Turquoise and Amber.

Sam can offer a complete bespoke design service tailored specifically to
your needs and requirements. She is pleased to take commissions for your unique
designs, and can incorporate your own beads, buttons and treasures if desired.

BHAVA MITCHELL - 5th AUGUST 1956 - 31st MARCH 2006

It is with much regret and sadness that I have to inform
you that Sam Hemming’s inspiring friend and work partner,
Bhava Mitchell, passed away at the end of March 2006.
She has been, and will be, greatly missed by many of the
Guild members, as will her contribution as a highly imaginative
and skilled beadworker. Bhava was Membership Secretary for the
Guild for a no. of years.
Along with her innate design and creative abilities,
Bhava also had many skills including Astrology, Gastronomy and
supporting many of her friends as a birthing partner.
Bhava was such a warm and lively character,
with a larger than life personality. She has left a
large gap in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
