Sian Elizabeth Hughes is an award winning jewellery designer/maker.

Sian’s contemporary Fine Jewellery reflects contrasts between organic and geometric forms. Each piece is handmade, incorporating materials such as Gold, Silver, Copper and Stainless steel.

Fragility, Honesty and Simplicity are the underlining core values for the collection that was originally inspired by extreme winter weather in New York’s Central Park.

Initial experiments in the manipulation of paper were translated in precious metal, each piece being carefully composed and constructed. The character of each piece is significant, highlighting individuality and the ability to be displayed as objects in their own right. Exploring themes of repetition, movement and layering is key in both the organic and geometric aspects.

“All of my collections rely on the simplicity of lines. Organic 3D shapes as thin as paper are manipulated and threaded on a wire pin that penetrates through an irregular structure. Irregularity in shape keeps each piece spontaneous and lively.”
